Of course it benefits you having access to a toilet but the environment also benefits from not having to contend with human waste.

And then there are the health problems that come with encountering human waste, such as giardiasis, which is caused by the parasite Giardia Lamblia and can lead to diarrhoea, fatigue and weight loss. Giardiasis can spread from faecal contamination of water supplies so it makes good sense to take a bush toilet with you wherever you go, for comfort and health reasons.
